Paul C. Kuo, MD, DMD
Dr. Paul C Kuo is a graduate of the Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
He also holds a Master’s degree in Anatomy from Harvard University. He did his residency training in general,
maxillofacial, and oral surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition, he spent one year specializing in
orthognathic surgery at the University of Washington of Seattle.
On completing residency training, Dr. Kuo took a position at the University of Chicago as an Assistant Professor.
Later, he became chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and director of its residency
training program at the Loyola University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Kuo also spent two years as Visiting Associate Professor in the Plastic and Reconstructive/Head and
Neck Surgery Unit at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where he established a laser cosmetic surgery
center and sleep apnea clinic. Most recently, he was Professor of Surgery (Maxillofacial Surgery) and
Anesthesiology at Dartmouth Medical before returning to Boston. Throughout the years,
Dr. Kuo has traveled extensively as a visiting professor/consultant to a number of countries.
He has published over 50 articles and abstracts, and co edited a book on laser applications in
maxillofacial surgery and dentistry.
Dr. Kuo is a Diplomate of American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Diplomate of the
American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
Dr. Kuo practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dentoalveolar surgery,
oral pathology, implant dentistry, and TMJ disorders. He is especially interested in orthognathic surgery,
facial deformities and reconstruction, obstructive sleep apnea, as well as cosmetic surgery.
His attention to detail and philosophy of providing optimal, quality care with the least amount of invasive surgery
has earned him trust from patients and confidence from referring doctors.
Dr. Kuo lives in Newton MA, with his wife Leslie and their two children.
